The
Screw pile is a very quick and easy foundation method which does not cause any vibrations or demand extensive land removal, thus the soil remains undisturbed and the environment undamaged. Frost insulation is also not required, when the
Screw piles twist flange is rotated to beneath the frost level.
The hand installed
Screw pile is installed into the ground for example with a crow bar or by rotating the pile with a righting lever. The hand installed
Screw pile is highly applicable for locations which only require a few piles or in such situations, where mechanical installation is impossible for reasons such as restrictive manoeuvrability. Installation is performed by using a crow bar to first strike a starting hole of approximately 20-30cm depth into the ground, after which the installation is performed by rotating the
Screw pile clockwise to the desired height. Paalupiste also offers rental services of a combustion engine earth auger, which eases and improves the installation of the hand installable pile.
The machine installed
Screw pile is installed into the ground using a hydraulic rotating engine, which is often attached to an excavator or truck crane. Per piece, the machine installed
Screw pile is economically a little more advantageous than a hand installed
Screw pile, and is highly suitable for locations where a greater number of piles are required. All 250mm and 400mm flange equipped piles are also modelled for the purposes of machine installation. With the aid of the machine installation,
Screw piles can be installed into harder and rockier ground than those for hand installation purposes. Machine installed
Screw piles for installation can be ordered through Paalupiste or from your nearest dealer.
The
Screw piles are manufactured from SH355 steel. All the piles are manufactured domestically in Finland. The
Screw piles are delivered principally as hot zinc-dipped, but the larger
Screw piles with a wall thickness of 6.3mm are generally delivered without any surface treatment.
